Kendall Hall: The Sigrid Stevenson Cold Case (1977)
Show notes
Labor Day weekend, 1977. On a nearly empty campus at Trenton State College, now The College of New Jersey, a campus officer spots a green bicycle outside the locked Kendall Hall theater. Inside, on the main stage beside a piano, is 25-year-old pianist and grad student Sigrid Stevenson. - The case: a locked building, no murder weapon, no forced entry, and almost no footprints. Nearly 50 years later, no one has ever been charged. - Who she was: a musician from Livermore, California, studying to become a teacher. - The investigation: campus police, the cast of a play staged the night before, an unidentified man she argued with, and DNA that came decades later. - The lore: reports of piano music, footsteps and slamming doors that turned Kendall Hall into TCNJ's most famous haunting. - The theory: an alien angle with no evidence behind it, for fun only. If you have any information about this case, contact the Mercer County Homicide Task Force at (609) 989-6406.
